Joshua Sealy
Biologist
The Pirbright Institute
Dr Joshua Sealy is a post-doctoral research scientist in the avian influenza viruses group at the Pirbright Institute.
Dr Sealy has experience in molecular biology of avian influenza viruses. He has studied mechanisms of antigenic drift, which has increased understanding of the multifaceted consequences of “drift” mutations. His experience also includes gathering data on poultry trading behaviours in live bird markets for the purpose of identifying practices associated with avian influenza infection in poultry.
He is currently working on methods to drive anti-influenza antibodies to conserved regions of the influenza haemagglutinin protein for subsequent isolation and production of broadly reactive antibodies.
