Professor Munir Iqbal leads the Hub’s research on avian influenza virus evolution, epidemiology, immunology, vaccinology, diagnostics, and zoonotic transmission. His role entails supervising researchers, investigating genetic and antigenic diversity, and improving vaccines and diagnostics to reduce the impact of avian influenza in poultry and people. Professor Iqbal is head of the Avian Influenza Virus (AIV) group at Pirbright.
