Dr V. Gowthaman’s research within the Hub includes surveillance, sampling and risk factor analysis along poultry value chains, and microbiological
and molecular testing of pathogenic bacteria associated with foodborne zoonoses. He provides baseline data for host-pathogen interaction dynamics and risk assessment and intervention studies relevant to zoonotic Salmonella and Campylobacter. He is also involved in training, stakeholder engagement and communications. Dr Gowthaman is Assistant Professor in the Poultry Disease Diagnosis and Surveillance Laboratory at TANUVAS.
